On this day (June 8th) forty-nine years ago, I was at Madison Square Garden for this Led Zeppelin concert. It was the second of six shows at the Garden.
According to the ticket stub, I was sitting in the orchestra, but I honestly don’t remember where I sat or much of anything from the concert. I’m sure some of that has to do with it being almost half a century ago, and some of it has to do with how stoned I undoubtedly was. I don’t recall who was with me, but it’s very likely to be Danny, Dave, and Luke, three high school friends who I went to most of my concerts with. Pam was a huge Zeppelin fan and was very likely there with us as well. The only thing I remember was Bonham’s very long drum solo during Moby Dick, and Page playing a double-necked guitar during Stairway to Heaven.

Here's the setlist for that show:
The Song Remains the Same
Sick Again (Preceded by 'The Rover' snippet)
Nobody's Fault but Mine (Blind Willie Johnson cover)
In My Time of Dying (Blind Willie Johnson cover)
Since I've Been Loving You
No Quarter
Ten Years Gone
The Battle of Evermore
Going to California
Black Country Woman
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
White Summer/Black Mountain Side
Kashmir
Moby Dick
Guitar Solo
Achilles Last Stand
Stairway to Heaven
Encore:
Whole Lotta Love
Rock and Roll

I wish I could remember more from the show, but I do like being able to say that I saw Zeppelin perform live.
