Restless Lens Weekly: Week 6 (February 5 to February 11)

(one) Armed and Dangerous

Okay. I’ve officially figured out the mechanics: I pull out my iPhone out with the left hand, swipe my left thumb across the screen to open the camera, and press the volume-up button to release the shutter. It’s not elegant, but neither is New York in February.

I’m not exactly pounding the pavement these days. Between the sling and the brutal cold, my outings have been limited to quick subway hops and short, bundled-up walks. But even in abbreviated form, the city keeps offering up little moments worth capturing.

This week I also played around with filters, messing with color (enhancing or muting it) adding a bit of grit and texture just to see what looked good and what didn't. Some experiments worked. Some… less so. That’s part of the fun. Here's what I encountered this past week:
