Restless Lens Week 44: Oct. 28 - Nov. 3 Back from Egypt and planted in New York.

Week 44 is in the books, and this week's collection is a bit of a photographic grab bag.
First, we have the final images from our Egyptian adventure, taken on the very last day of the trip. Most are from the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum, which provided a fitting finale to an unforgettable journey. After nearly two weeks of photographing ancient wonders, bustling streets, colorful characters, and the occasional Egyptian cat, it was finally time to put away the camera and head home.

Back to good ol' New York.
Unfortunately, my return wasn't exactly triumphant. Between some killer jet lag and a wicked cold (or flu, or whatever miserable little souvenir I picked up along the way), I spent much of the week feeling like something that had just been excavated from an Egyptian tomb.
Consequently, the New York portion of this week's collection is a little sparse and, frankly, not among my most inspired efforts. Apparently, it's difficult to summon your photographic muse when you're mostly interested in tissues, cough drops, and getting back into bed.

But the good news is that I'm finally back to normal, and with no more trips on the calendar for the remainder of the year, The Restless Lens will be staying firmly planted in New York.
After all, this city has never been short of photographic opportunities. I just need to get back out there and find them.
So, one last look at Egypt, a somewhat tentative return to New York, and then it's full steam ahead toward the end of the year.
Onward to Week 45!
