Restless Lens Week 43: October 20 - 27 An Egyptian Feast for the Eyes
Week 43 of The Restless Lens is in the books, and suddenly the end of the year is approaching at an alarming speed. How the hell did that happen?
This week's collection comes entirely from Egypt, where I've discovered that the biggest challenge isn't finding something interesting to photograph. It's figuring out when to put the iPhone down.

Of course, Egypt has its famous attractions—the pyramids, the Sphinx, the ancient temples, and all those extraordinary monuments that have been drawing visitors for centuries. Yes, I've been photographing those, too. But what has really kept me busy is the street photography. The markets, the narrow alleyways, the architecture, the people going about their daily lives, the animals, the colors, the textures... everywhere I turn, there's something else demanding my attention.
It's exhilarating, but also a little overwhelming. In New York, I can wander around for an hour and come home happy with a handful of photographs. Here, I barely have time to catch my breath between shots. Just when I think I've seen enough, I turn a corner and discover something else.
The result? Nearly 80 photographs in this week's collection. And believe me, that's after some serious editing.
So settle in, because Week 43 is a rather substantial photographic journey through Egypt, from its world-famous landmarks to the everyday scenes that have fascinated me just as much.
