Restless Lens Week 38 Sept 16 - 22. The Usual Suspects, plus ... a Feast!

Week 38 of The Restless Lens has come and gone, and apparently my fascination with abandoned shoes isn’t going anywhere. I don’t know why people keep leaving perfectly photographable footwear on the streets of New York, but as long as they do, I’ll keep taking pictures of it.

There’s also a little more architecture than usual this week, along with my perennial favorites: dogs, birds, and New Yorkers simply being themselves. As always, I didn’t set out with any particular theme in mind. These are just the things that caught my eye as I wandered around the city.

But this week comes with a bonus. The annual Feast of San Gennaro was underway in Little Italy, and naturally I couldn’t resist wandering through with my iPhone. Crowds, food, signs, street vendors, decorations—and plenty of people-watching. In other words, pretty much irresistible territory for The Restless Lens.

So Week 38 is a little bigger and more colorful than usual. I'll save the San Gennaro photos for the end.
